Angel Park Golf Club

Angel Park has everything that the Las Vegas visitor or even the local golfer can enjoy. The property hails two spectacular 18 hole courses, as well as a 12-hole short course named “Cloud Nine.” This course is spectacular, giving all players a glimpse at world renowned golf holes played by the professionals.

One of the most intriguing and difficult holes on the course is the “Island Green,” named after the famous hole from TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. This hole is sure to make you stop and strategize as how best to play it. Aiming for the front of the green is always the best strategy, as long as you don’t hit it short or else you are all wet.

Another great aspect of this course is that the entire twelve holes are lighted for night play. This is especially key for those sometimes unbearable summer days when the temperature reaches close to 120 degrees. When the sun falls and the nights get cooler, your round can begin. This course was recently ranked, “One of the Top Short Courses in America,” by Golf Range Magazine, and “Top Ten Replica Courses in the Country,” by Travel and Leisure.

When it comes to the Mountain Course at Angel Park, you are truly in for a day of great golf. Whether you are a seasoned veteran playing from the tips or a beginner out to have fun this course will cater to your needs. The experienced player will be happy with the overall distance of the holes and the layout of the fairways. When playing from all the way back at the black tees, many of the par fours leave you at a distance to refine that short game.

Whether it be a 60 yard chip shot, or that 10 yard off the green short shot, the Mountain course will challenge your skills. For the beginner, the course does not penalize you for a miss-shot. The fairways are forgiving enough to allow you to regroup and go at it again, and the greens are readable, but speed always depends on the weather. The heat of the summer months turns these greens into dry speed traps. It takes some getting used to, but after a few holes you get in the groove and it becomes natural.
